resplabs was founded by two Registered Respiratory Therapists, and we write about CPAP therapy from that experience. But nothing on this site is medical advice for you specifically, and reading it does not create a clinician-patient relationship.
Talk to your own clinician
CPAP therapy is prescribed. Pressure settings, mask type, humidification, and whether you should be on CPAP at all are decisions for your physician, sleep specialist or the respiratory therapist who set you up. Don't change your settings, stop therapy, or switch mask styles because of something you read here without talking to them first.
What our products are
resplabs products are replacement accessories and consumables for CPAP, APAP and BiPAP equipment: filters, cushions, liners, tubing, wipes, chinstraps, batteries and similar items. They are designed to fit equipment made by other manufacturers. They do not treat, diagnose, cure or prevent any disease on their own. Replacement schedules we suggest (for example, filter replacement intervals) are general guidance; follow your device manufacturer's instructions and your clinician's advice where they differ.
Batteries and power
The Freedom battery is a backup power source for CPAP travel and power outages. It is not life-support equipment. If your therapy is life-sustaining, or you use non-invasive ventilation for a condition other than sleep apnea, ask your clinician what backup power you need before relying on any portable battery.
Cleaning products
Wipes and cleaning products are for cleaning mask surfaces and accessories as described on their labels. They are not disinfectants or sterilants, and they don't replace the cleaning routine your equipment manufacturer specifies. Stop using any product that causes skin irritation and contact us.
No guarantees
People respond to masks, cushions and accessories differently. A product that makes one patient comfortable may not do the same for the next one, and a liner or a strap cover pads pressure points and softens escaping air rather than sealing a leak: a real leak is a worn cushion, the wrong size, or straps pulled too tight. We stand behind the quality of what we make, and Amazon's return policy protects you if it doesn't work out, but we can't promise a clinical result.
